Go around the room and have everyone share one high point (best thing) and one low point (worst thing) about their week
Would you rather be unable to move your body every time it rains or not be able to stop moving while the sun is out?
Would you rather spend every day for the rest of your life alone, or spend every day for the rest of your life with people?
Do you think God wants to connect with us? If so, why? What makes us so special?
Is there a right way or a wrong way to connect with God? What do you do to connect with God?
During her talk, Kim talked about six different methods of connecting with God: Nature, Study, Serving, Worship, Friends & Being Alone.
Do any of these stand out to you? If so, which one? What makes it stand out to you?
Have you ever encountered God through one of these methods before? What happened, and how did it make you feel?
What can you do to connect with God on a deeper level each week? How can you implement some of these methods into your schedule?
Read this quote by Billy Graham: “Remember: God WANTS to connect with you, and He has done everything possible to make it a reality. He has forgiven your sins, at the cost of His own dear Son. He has given you His Word, and the priceless privilege of prayer and worship.”
What do you think Billy Graham was trying to say here?
Why do you think God wants to connect with you? What makes it so important to Him?
Do you think connecting with God is beneficial for you? What does connecting with God do in your life/how does it make you feel?
ACT IT OUT:
There are many different ways we can connect with God – none of them are right, or wrong; they just work for different people. This week, we want to challenge you all to reflect on the different ways you can connect with God and to try out some that you’ve never tried before. Be intentional on taking time this week to connect with God in whatever ways work best for you.
Ask your group/child if there are any prayer requests or praise reports that they would like to share. Take a moment and pray over all the requests.
